Prakash Loungani
Advisor, Research Department, IMF



Prakash Loungani is an Advisor in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund.

He is also an adjunct professor of economics at Vanderbilt University's Owen School of Management and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He was also an adjunct professor at the Maxwell School of Communications at Syracuse University and assistant professor at the University of Florida.

Earlier, Mr. Loungani was an analyst for the Federal Reserve Board's International Finance Division and senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Additionally, he has participated in the National Bureau of Economic Research's Summer Institute.

His work has been published in the NBER International Seminar on Macroeconomics, The Cato Journal, Reason, Business Times Singapore, The World Economy, Financial Times, Finance & Development and IMF Survey.

Mr. Loungani has a BA from the University of Bombay and an MA and PhD in economics from the University of Rochester.
