Sheila Bair
Former Chairman, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation



Sheila Bair is the former Chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

Prior to assuming her post at the FDIC, Ms. Bair served as assistant secretary for financial institutions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and as senior vice president for government relations of the New York Stock Exchange.

She holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Kansas and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.
