George Yeo is a visiting scholar at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
From 2004 to 2011, Mr. Yeo was Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs in Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's government. Before holding this post, Mr. Yeo had served as Minister for Trade and Industry, Minister for Information and the Arts, Minister of Health, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Finance.
Prior to entering Parliament, Mr. Yeo was a Brigadier-General in the Republic of Singapore Air Force. He served as the Chief-of-Staff of the Air Staff from 1985 to 1986, and as the Director of Joint Operations and Planning at the Ministry of Defence from 1986 to 1988.
Mr. Yeo graduated from the Harvard Business School, where he earned an MBA with High Distinction in 1985 and was a Baker Scholar. He studied engineering at Cambridge University, where, as an undergraduate, he was elected president of the Cambridge University Malaysia-Singapore Association. He graduated with a Double First in 1976.
