James P. Pinkerton is a fellow at the New America Foundation.

He is also a columnist for Newsday and TechCentralStation.com and a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

Mr. Pinkerton worked in the White House domestic policy offices of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He also worked on their 1980, 1984, 1988 and 1992 presidential campaigns.

He is also author of the book, What Comes Next: The End of Big Government and the New Paradigm Ahead (Hyperion, 1995).
