Robert Byrd
U.S. Senator from West Virginia



Robert Byrd is a U.S. Senator from West Virginia.

He was elected in 1958 — and has served as Senator for West Virginia ever since.

Senator Byrd has served as Senate Majority and Minority Leader — among other positions. He has also served on several committees, such as the Apropriations Committee, where he served as chairman.

Senator Byrd received his law degree from American University in 1963 by taking ten years of night classes. He received his BA in political science from Marshall University.
