Suzanne Charlé is a freelance writer and editor based in New York, who has focused much of her professional effort towards work on Asia. In addition to the Ford Foundation Report, her articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Nation and the International Herald Tribune.

Currently, she is working on a project with the Jakarta-based Lontar Foundation to record the history of Indonesians who were imprisoned after Suharto took control of the country in 1965.
