Ariel Cohen is Director, Center for Energy, Natural Resources and Geopolitics (CENRG) and Senior Fellow at the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security (IAGS). He also is Principal, International Market Analysis Ltd.

Previously, Mr. Cohen was a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation from 1992 to 2013, where he covered economic development and political reform in the former Soviet republics, U.S. energy security, the global war on terror — as well as the continuing conflict in the Middle East.

Mr. Cohen is a native of Yalta on the shores of the Black Sea. He also lived in Israel for eleven years, earning his law degree at Bar Ilan University Law School in Tel Aviv — and working as a foreign policy journalist.

Mr. Cohen earned his Ph.D. at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.

He regularly provides commentary on Russian and Eurasian affairs for CNN, ABC, BBC-TV, CBN and all three national TV channels in Russia. He is a weekly contributor to the Voice of America radio and TV programs.

Mr. Cohen is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, International Institute of Strategic Studies in London and American Association for Advancement of Slavic Studies.
