Futurist, Evolutionary Economist and Founder, Ethical Markets Media

Hazel Henderson is the founder of Ethical Markets Media, as well as the creator and co-executive producer of its TV series. A futurist and evolutionary economist, Ms. Henderson is the author of the award-winning book Ethical Markets: Growing the Green Economy (Chelsea Green, 2006) and many other books.

Her editorials are syndicated by InterPress Service. She leads the Transforming Finance initiative, created the Green Transition Scoreboard, and co-developed the GDP-alternative now known as the Calvert-Henderson Ethical Markets Quality of Life Indicators. With Biomimicry 3.8, she developed the Principles of Ethical Biomimicry Finance.

Ms. Henderson has served on the boards of the Worldwatch Institute, Calvert Social Investment Fund, the Social Investment Forum and the Social Venture Network. She has been Regent’s Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and held the Horace Albright Chair in Conservation at the University of California, Berkeley.

She has served as an advisor to the U.S. Office of Technology Assessment, the National Academy of Engineering and the National Science Foundation. She serves on the Program Council of FORUM 2000, founded by their late President Vaclav Havel, in Prague.

In 2010, 2012 and 2013, Ms. Henderson was honored as one of the “Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behavior” by Trust Across America. In 2012, she received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Development of ESG & Investing at TBLI Europe. In 2013, she was inducted into the International Society of Sustainability Professionals Hall of Fame.
