Who Is The Globalist?

Our core editorial belief is that now more than ever, people everywhere are seeking a better understanding of what connects — and divides — nations and societies, economies and cultures.

Our commitment and dedication to promoting dialogue on key global issues reaches back almost two decades.

Building on almost two decades of experience

Starting in 1985, The Globalist's Publisher Stephan Richter hosted over 170 roundtable discussions (then known as TransAtlantic Futures Forums).

Promoting global dialogue

These events featured top-level U.S., European and global policy makers presenting their analyses and views on important economic trends — from the integration of emerging market countries into the global economy to international competitiveness.

International debate

TAF Forums were sponsored by a variety of foundations and institutions seeking to advance the international debate on emerging global issues.

Global intercultural communications

Key global issues

Building on that experience, TransAtlantic Futures, Inc. (TAF), a leading global communications advisory firm, was founded in 1990 to promote the same principles of global inclusion and innovative intercultural communications.

Leading-edge advice

In this function, we have advised companies, governments, foundations, international institutions and individuals from around the world. We work with clients who consider themselves as change agents — and who are committed to advancing the global debate on leading-edge economic, financial and other policy issues.

Launching The Globalist

From idea...

In January 2000, TransAtlantic Futures' long-standing mission of promoting global debate — and its extensive global communications experience — culminated in the launch of The Globalist.

...to reality

To this end we use our unique researching and writing skills to make the global economy, culture and politics accessible to all audiences.
