Hilwiah Roche has written for 25 years on women’s issues, social justice and human rights.

She began her career in journalism with the Independent Newspapers Limited in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

She received her BA in economics from Stella Maris College in India.

She also received her diploma in freelance journalism from the Regent Institute in London and joined the Commonwealth Journalists’ Association.

Ms. Roche lives in India and organizes social welfare programs for women and children using her own funds and time.
