John McCormick

Professor of Political Science, Indiana University

John McCormick is a professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the Indianapolis campus of Indiana University.

Mr. McCormick’s work is focused on the politics of the European Union, transatlantic relations and environmental policy.

He is the author of ten books, including "Understanding the European Union,” “The Global Environmental Movement” and “The European Union: Politics and Policies.” His new book, “The European Superpower,” will be published by Palgrave Macmillan in the fall of 2006.

A citizen of Britain, Mr. McCormick was raised in Kenya, went to an university in South Africa — and has lived in the United States for 20 years. Before entering academia, he worked for two London-based international environmental interest groups.

Mr. McCormick has an M.Phil from the University of London and a Ph.D. from Indiana University.

He lives with his wife and two sons in Indianapolis.
