Indonesia’s Minister for Trade and Industry

Rini Soewandi is Indonesia’s Minister for Trade and Industry.

Prior to that, Ms. Soewandi served as a Commissioner at the Jakarta Stock Exchange from 1995 to 2001. She also served as expert staff to the Minister of Finance in 1998, focusing on international finance relations and the Vice-Chairman at the National Banking Restructuring Board (BPPN) 1998.

Ms. Soewandi graduated from Wellesley College, Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Economics.

Between 1981 and 1982, she worked as a trainee at the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Soewandi was born in Bethesda, Maryland. She is married to Didik Soewandi. The Soewandi have three children — and live in Kuningan Timur, Jakarta, Indonesia.
