Stephen Glain is a contributing editor for Newsweek International.

His book, “Mullahs, Merchants, and Militants: The Economic Collapse of the Arab World,” was named by “The Globalist” as the top book of 2004.

From 1998 to 2001, Glain was “The Wall Street Journal’s” Middle East correspondent based in Amman, Jordan. Prior to that he covered Asia for the Journal from postings in Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong.
