Klaus Friedrich is an economist who has worked at the Federal Reserve and The Institute of International Finance in Washington. In the 1990’s, he was Chief Economist at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt. He knew Mr. Putin during Putin’s St. Petersburg period, when he was in charge of that city’s relations with Western banks.
