Visiting Fellow at Stanford University

Glen S. Fukushima is a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University, where he focuses on the nexus between technology, trade, national security and U.S.-Asia relations.

He previously served as Vice Chair of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation. He has also served as a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress from 2012.

From 1990 to 2012, Fukushima was based in Asia as Vice President of AT&T Japan, and President & CEO of the Japan operations of Arthur D. Little, Cadence Design Systems, NCR and Airbus.

He was elected twice to serve as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and served on the board of directors or advisory board of several major companies, including the Mizuho Financial Group, Industrial Bank of Japan, Daiwa Securities, Fidelity International Funds, Innotech and Sumisho Electronics.

From 1985 to 1988, Fukushima served as Director for Japanese Affairs at the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), and from 1988 to 1990 as Deputy Assistant United States Trade Representative for Japan and China at USTR.

A native of California, he was an exchange student at Keio University and a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Tokyo and has served as a Visiting Professor at Sophia University, Kyoto University and Waseda University.
