Annamarie Bindenagel is completing a M.A. in public policy at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Her research is focused on the intersection between dignity and development in the context of the fight against HIV/AIDS at the grassroots level.

Prior to her graduate studies, she worked for DaimlerChrysler and spent ten months shuttling between squatter camps, townships and corporate boardrooms.

Annamarie Bindenagel has also consulted on HIV/human security at the University of Pretoria and for numerous NGOs. Part of a U.S. foreign service family, she spent part of her youth growing up in Germany.
