Research Associate, Focus on the Global South, Bangkok, Thailand
Dorothy Guerrero is a research associate for Focus on the Global South — an independent research and policy advocacy organization based at the Chulalongkorn University Social Research Institute in Bangkok, Thailand.
She is also a PhD candidate at the Political Science Department of Duisburg University in Germany,where she is writing her thesis on the role of transnational non-state actors in transforming the process of participation in international governing institutions.
She received her M.A. on the Politics of Alternative Development Strategies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, The Netherlands.
Prior to working with Focus, Dorothy worked as the Sustainable Development and Agenda 21 Programme Coordinator at the Asienhaus, a German network of NGOs that specializes on Asian issues. From 1990 to 1999, she worked as research associate and coordinator of the International Programme of the Institute for Popular Democracy in the Philippines.
