John Eipper

Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Adrian College.

John Eipper is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Adrian College.

Born in California, Mr. Eipper first experienced Latin America as a high school exchange student in Chile during the Pinochet era (1981). He has since studied and conducted research in Mexico, Argentina and Cuba.

Mr. Eipper’s book, “Elías Castelnuovo, la revolución hecha palabra,” published in 1995 in Buenos Aires, has become nearly impossible to find — but he continues to visit and write about Latin America.

He is currently working on a novel in Spanish, as well as preparing a collection of essays on Mexico and its two centuries of cultural interaction with the United States.

He also works assiduously on improving his shaky Russian skills and equally shaky piano playing.

Mr. Eipper holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.

He resides in the historic town of Adrian, Michigan, where he is renovating a 1860s-vintage home — one board at a time.
