Executive Director, Foundation for Fund Governance

John Prout is the executive director of the Foundation for Fund Governance in Washington, DC. Prior to that, he spent more than two decades working in Europe, where he ran the trading rooms for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Mitsui Trust in London. He then moved to Credit Commerical de France in Paris as International Treasurer.

He has served on the boards and investment committees of a number of hedge funds and family offices and has chaired a Monaco advisory council for Swiss bank EFG. He also writes and speaks on variety of investment topics.

Before moving to Europe, he worked in New York at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Continental Grain, Colgate-Palmolive and Morgan Bank. He graduated from Harvard with a B.A. degree in economics and attended New York University School of Business Administration.
