Joseph Vann

Joseph Vann is the director of the Program in Countering Transnational Organized Crime at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.

Joseph Vann is a retired U.S. government civil servant. From 2011 to 2014, he was a professor of national security studies at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

Mr. Vann’s focus is on developing strategy and policy solutions to address national security challenges. He has worked with a variety of governments and ministries on matters relating to strategy development and security issues.

He earned a master’s Degree in Policy Management from the Georgetown University Public Policy Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Florida State University.
