Muzamil Jaleel is the Kashmir Chief of Bureau for The Indian Express — based in Srinagar, India. He has covered Kashmir for the Indian Express since 1997.

In 2003, Mr. Jaleel was awarded the Tolerance Prize for South Asia by the International Federation of Journalists.

In 1994, he received a Times fellowship from The Times of India group to research “violence and its implications on Kashmiri society.”

Mr. Jaleel has also contributed articles on Kashmir to the London-based newspapers The Guardian and The Observer.
