Thomas Speckmann

Thomas Speckmann has many years of experience in politics, business and academia: At the German Federal Ministry of Finance, he was responsible for strategic communications for Federal Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble.

Prior to that, he headed the Speeches, Publications, and Public Appearances department for two DAX 30 CEOs and served as a policy advisor for economics, energy, construction, housing and transportation. He previously also served as deputy head of the Policy Issues Division in the State Chancellery (Governor’s office) of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Following his years working with Wolfgang Schäuble, Thomas Speckmann served as a director at the global management consulting firm Brunswick Group, head of corporate communications at Westenergie AG and as global head of communications at CompuGroup Medical SE & Co. KGaA.

Holding a doctorate in history, political science and communication studies, he has held teaching positions at the universities of Bonn, Münster, Potsdam and the Free University of Berlin. He has received numerous awards for his publications.
