Zhao Gang

General Director of the Global Innovation Center

Zhao Gang is General Director of the Global Innovation Center. He is also a postdoctoral researcher at Tsinghua University and visiting professor at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. In addition, he is an international visiting scholar at the U.S. Department of State, Tian Changlin visiting scholar at The Asia Foundation, Director of China-U.S. and China-EU and Russia Innovation Dialogue Expert Groups and a senior advisor of UNIDO.

Zhao Gang served as the director of the department of the Organization of Soft Science, Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology. He held posts concurrently as executive director and deputy secretary-general of the Association for Soft Science of China, director of the Seminar of Quantitative & Technical Economics of China and Chief Supervisor of the Seminar of Beijing Tech-economics.

Mr. Gang is professor at the China University of Geosciences, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Northwest University, Beijing Information Science and Technology University, Wuhan University of Technology and Huaqiao University.

Over a long period of time, he was responsible for the scheme of national soft science research, and in charge of organizing and contacting of the national think-tank networks. (There are more than 1,700 think-tanks provided policy suggestions for the Chinese government).
