Zuhra Bahman studies Anthropology and Law at the London School of Economics.

She was born in Kabul, Afghanistan as the oldest of three children. Ms. Bahman fled her country after the Taliban had invaded her home town of Mazar City in 1999 and went to Pakistan.

In 2000, Ms. Bahman founded the refugee wing of Youth and Children Development Program’s (an NGO already working inside Afghanistan) in Islamabad, Pakistan. From there, she managed the refugee wing until she came to Great Britain.

In Great Britain, she co-founded the Afghan Youth Council.

In 2002, she was the youngest person to address the Afghan Civil Society meeting in Bonn.
