Suzanne Loftus

Professor of National Security at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies

Suzanne Loftus is Professor of National Security at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Her research interests include Russia, transatlantic security and issues in great power competition.

She received her PhD from the University of Miami in International Studies, where she also worked as an instructor and researcher.

Suzanne has published a number of book chapters on Russian-Western relations, and most recently a book on Russian identity and foreign and domestic policy.

Prior to her academic career she worked in the private sector as well as at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Suzanne also holds a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland and speaks French, Spanish and Russian.
