  • The US median household income is more than 8% below where it was in 2000.

1. U.S. median household income in February 2013 was $51,404.

2. This means U.S. median household income was 5.6% below where it was in June 2009, when the recovery from the financial crisis began ($54,437).

3. It is also 8.9% below where it was at the start of the 21st century.
