Colin Cleary

U.S. Foreign Service Officer, retired.
Colin Cleary retired in 2020 after more than three decades as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. His most recent posting was as Director for Energy Diplomacy for Europe, the Western Hemisphere and Africa at the State Department’s Energy Bureau.
Prior to that, he represented the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research as Chair of an Intelligence Community body charged with formulating strategic collection requirements.
Mr. Cleary was Political Counselor at U.S. Embassy Kyiv and Science Counselor at U.S. Embassy Moscow. Other Embassy postings include Madrid, Warsaw, Kampala and Mexico City.
